About This Event

The event is centered around the historic Highland Park Theatre which will include some complimentary movie screenings over the weekend which has a particular focus on local, LGBTQ and Latinx stories. \ \ Outside the theatre, DJ’s will be playing music as artists do live art experiences al fresco. \ \ The festival kicks off with the red carpet outside the theatre @ 7pm on Friday Oct 1st followed by a free screening of “Playing with Fire \'\' a documentary about famed East LA artist and Chicano activist Carlos Almarez. \ \ Saturday will host a series of short films, documentaries and independent feature films including “Lorelei” starring Jena Malone.\ \ To find out more please visit https://www.hpifilmfest.com/index.html \
