About This Event

The Elysian Valley Arts Collective (EVAC), producers of the Frogtown Artwalk, present a virtual tour through Frogtown and interview with legendary drummer John Densmore in celebration of his latest book “The Seekers: Meetings With Remarkable Musicians (and Other Artists). \ \ The second installment of EVAC’s “LA Icon” series sees long-time friend and event host Rex Weiner as he takes Densmore on a tour of Frogtown where they meet some of the remarkable musicians, artists and community members living, creating and working in the neighborhood. Watch as Densmore and Weiner meander through the creative enclave along the LA River, known for it’s natural habitat and vibrant artist community. They’ll meet artists and musicians, take part in a drum circle with renowned world music drummer Ayo Adeyemi and talk with local drum maker Pat Bylard about his famous Cajongo drums. All the while, they’ll discuss Densmore’s latest book, The Seekers, which tells tales of his meetings with iconic musicians and personalities like Bob Marley, George Harrison and The Dalai Lama. The Zoom event will culminate in a live Q & A with Densmore and you can expect a few surprises as these two “take a walk on the wildlife side”. \ \ Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win a signed copy of Densmore’s book, The Seekers: Meetings With Remarkable Musicians (and Other Artists). \ \ The event is free, but RSVP is required to get the Zoom link. \ \ This event is sponsored by Flawless Post (Title Sponsor), Salazar Restaurant, Happier Camper, Tracy A.
