About This Event

Baroque fans, here\'s the can\'t-miss-out performance you\'ve long been waiting for, complete with a period instrument orchestra. Conductor Harry Bicket and The English Concert make their first LA Opera appearance in concert performances of Handel’s thrilling Alcina. Set on an enchanted island with not one but two sorceresses (maybe evil, maybe not), a flock of discarded lovers transformed into wild beasts, and a young woman disguising herself as a man so she can track down her missing lover—it happens, right?—Alcina offers a nonstop thrill ride of gorgeous music and astounding singing.
